Fire Code Enforcement

 

 

 

    

 

     The St. Albans Fire Department continues in its efforts to enforce Fire Codes on structures within the city.  This has become a greater challenge due to lack of staffing of the department.  The department annually conducts a pre-fire plan on each business within the city.  The three shifts fill out a check off list of possible infractions they are to check for.  If a particular business has an infraction such as a locked or blocked exit they are advised to remedy the situation while the firefighters are on site.  The Shift Commander then turns in the paperwork and I do a follow up inspection.  I also answer complaints from citizens on particular situations and routinely do spot inspections.
