New Water Rescue Apparatus

 

 

 

      Delivery of the 2006 Ford 550 KME Water Rescue Apparatus in April of 2007.

This unit replaced the vehicle pictured below that was previously donated by Kanawha County Ambulance in 2002.  The unit, a 1994 used ambulance had over 300,000 miles on it when we received it.  The department was able to use it for a few years before it started falling apart.  The new truck should last many years and has no mechanical issues it is also much safer.  The unit was purchase for $119,000.00; $5,000.00 of City money and the remainder with private and government grants.
